put a notice up that your requiring 24hr advance reservations for a party of 6
They are racist or at least that’s the impression they gave us. Catering to white clientele only. We didn’t even have a chance to try it out. Turned us away with several lame excuses. Could not accommodate a party of five and could not split. Could not take later reservations only for next day. Finally because they were understaffed!!! Meantime, we witnessed how at least 12 white people were being seated.

I’ve never had a waiter be too attentive but Dylan was tonight. Could barely get two bites in before he was back checking on us. Pasta was excellent! Too bad the sauces were either bland (Alfredo) to full of pepper and almost inedible (meat sauce). Meatballs were seriously full of pepper too. Best part was the Caesar salad - really liked the dressing - but that’s not enough for me to come back again.

We take great pride in our service and our food. Our sauces are homemade daily and consistent. We weren't made aware by any of our other customers that there was a problem. We will look into it. This was our first visit to this restaurant. We’ve been to many Italian restaurants but this was the first time we went and no bread was offered or a salad with an $18 entree. The prices are really expensive here so you would think this would be included. We won’t be back when we come to Galveston.

RecommendedLet me first say that Marios is one of my favorite restaurants. I eaten there many times. Our service this evening was not acceptable Our waiter was non apologetic He even took food that we asked For to go containers I spoke to the manager John He said if we didn’t like the service Don’t come back We were all taken back I’ve never been treated like that by a manager We had already paid the bill in full and we’re not Asking for discounts. Food was great but the service on the other hand was beyond terrible. Waitress forgot our straws. Had to flag down another waitress just to be able to drink our beverages. After the food came we never saw our waitress again. We had to flag down yet another waitress just to get our check and pay. To top it off the offered $5 off a $100 tab for the inconvenience and bad service.
The service was terrible. The waiter took or order and didn’t return to the table for 30 minutes, when he reminded himself that he didn’t put the order in.. worst of is that he blamed it on the kitchen (I saw him put the order in and then he came back to confirm it) I the host to speak with a manager and she said there wasn’t one, then she corrected herself and said there was one but he was upstairs and not available. My friend and I are visiting from out of state. We came to Mario’s based on reviews. Everything was alright up until I was near finished with my glass of wine. I spotted a gnat that seemed to have snuck his way into my glass. I let the waiter know, who took it to someone at the front of the house to “see what he could do.” He disappears for twenty minutes, asks us if we want dessert, coffee, etc. No apology for the wine, no visit from a manager, nothing.
