RecommendedWe are here for my wife's birthday, and as always the service and food were excellent. Our server was very helpful and patience while we ordered. We never felt rushed and the pacing of the food was spot on. The food as always was excellent! This is why Saltwater grill is one of my Wife's favorite restaurants in Galveston!
My fiance and I are from Kansas City. We have spent the last 4 days enjoying the local atmosphere and cuisine. We had dinner at the Saltwater Grill last night and unfortunately did not enjoy our experience. The service was good and staff was friendly. The food however was bland, very pricey, and portions were small. The table were we sat there was a shelf behind us that was very dusty and needed cleaned. The restroom also was lacking cleanliness. We had a bad experience in February which I reported and was contacted about it. As a result we were awarded a $100 gift certificate to make up for the bad experience. We saved it to use last night before the Vince Gill concert at the Grand. We let our server know when we were seated that we had the certificate. She was attentive almost to the point of overdoing it. Ordered bloody Mary's and she immediately offered champagne and wine which we refused. In my top 5 list of best Restaraunts on the Island ! No other servers are more educated about their menu and selection of wines to pair with dinner then Saltwaters'. To me that is so important along with great tasting food and beautiful presentation to make for a wonderful dining experience ! The place is just fun and delicious !
My son and law and daughter treated me to Saltwater last night. The best Margaret on the rocks and Surf & Turf Dinner special was excellent. Will be returning on my next visit to Galveston.
The owner is a wanna be gangster and the cook along w another employee acted as if they wanted to assault me because I momentarily parked in an "exclusive " area behind the restaurant.He wouldn't allow me to explain that the reason I was parking there was because I was employed working on the strand at the time and was picking up a family member who also worked on the strand.After all the verbal assaults and threats he blocked my car in w his red suv and refused to allow me to leave or move my vehicle.The cook and I believe ... read more
